The fortnightly Book Club allows the children to utilise all the English skills they have built up and further develops their knowledge and understanding of the many aspects of analysing and reviewing literature.

There is a syllabus of 8 books covering a wide range of genres and including some well-known, popular children’s authors. They are encouraged to come out of their comfort zones and read books and genres that they may not necessarily ordinarily choose.

The children develop confidence in talking about books, presenting ideas to a group and listening to others thoughts and opinions. 

The Need to Read – Book Club throws open the doors to the wonderful world of books. For many children this is the start of a life-long love of reading.
